Interview Dress Code - Dress For Success

Prior before facing a job interview we should know the importance of Interview Dress Code or Dress for success and characteristics of a sincere employee. An employee should be confident and should have a positive attitude. These two are the important characteristics of a good employee. There are many people who don't give much importance to their looks aspect for their job hunting procedure. The more elegantly you are dressed, the more positive and confident you will feel and show. Whether you consider it or not, you are observed from your head to toe in any interviews you face. Not only is your knowledge and individuality sized up but also your look. The dress code for men and women vary largely. When you get ready for an interview or prepare for sample interview question it is very important, how you accessorize. When you are wearing accessories for an interview, it's always 'less is more'. It's significant not to overexert the accessories. The more you wear accessories the less impression you create in front of the interviewer. It's also important to keep in mind that you select the accessories that will actually improve your interview outfit and of course not overpower it as we all know before attending any specialized events for example interviews or career fairs, creating the first impression is very essential. For these particular events, wearing business professional attire is the most suitable form of clothing.

  • Professional outfit for Men: Basically professional outfit, for men means a dark corporate suit, formal shirt worn with a classy tie, and well polished shoes.

  • Professional outfit for Women: Professional outfit for women means professional attire with any dark color skirt or trousers suit, and they can pair it with any light color shirt and they can team up with pumps shoes or you can also go for closed toe sandals with little heels.

As the famous saying goes "First impression is the last impression" so it's been suggested that before facing any interview your attire should look perfect and the most important is that you should be confident enough to carry that particular attire.

How to answer behavioral interview questions?

Nowadays in more and more job interviews, interviewers are asking behavioral based interview questions rather than the traditional questions that focus on the interview’s experience and skills. This is because behavioral based interview questions can judge the competency of an employee better as behavior plays a vital role in the job performance of an employee.  Going through sample interview questions will help you a lot in clearing the round. Given below are some tips that will help you clear the behavioral round if followed.

Be specific

Behavioral answers tend to be lengthy as you need to describe a situation and how you behaved in the same. If you are asked to describe a situation where you performed multitasking then do not tell a story, it will just bore the interviewer and you will lose focus in mentioning the required details.

So when you mention a situation, just highlight the problem and how you solved it, don’t forget to mention the reason that made you took a particular decision.

Give examples

Whenever you say anything, just don’t tell about your qualities. You must always support your answer with sufficient examples. When you give examples it clarifies your intention behind taking the decision. So give as much examples as possible.

Relate your resume with what you say

While answering behavioral questions make sure what you say about yourself relates with what is mentioned in your resume. You may speak excellent and give some fantastic examples but if facts does not match with what you have written then you will sound artificial. Doing this will spoil your image in front of the interviewer and you are likely to lose the job.

Use the time wisely

Remember that you do not have the entire day to prove yourself as the best candidate in front of the interviewer. You have to use the time wisely and get your points across in the best way  within the stipulated time. So speak only about the relevant points and impress the interviewer. He will remember you among all the other candidates by the way you perform in the interview.

Follow these tips and go through here for some sample behavior interview questions so that you get an idea of what interview questions you will be asked.
